About me
Waad Tarman is a Ph.D. candidate in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Auburn University. Her research focuses on the mechanical and microstructural reliability of lead-free solder joints in electronic assemblies, with an emphasis on solder alloy composition, thermal aging, surface finishes, and joint geometry. Her work includes shear and fatigue testing of individual SAC-based solder joints, along with microstructural characterization to better understand failure mechanisms and long-term reliability. Waad is actively involved in the electronics manufacturing community, including service as a Student Board Member on the IPC/GEA Board of Directors. She is also a recipient of the SMTA JoAnn Stromberg Student Leader Scholarship. At Auburn University, she has served as Instructor of Record for an Electronics Manufacturing Systems course and held several student leadership positions, including President of the Auburn University SMTA Student Chapter and President of the Auburn University GEA Student Chapter.
