George K. Winstead serves as a Senior Systems Engineer at Leidos at Huntsville, AL. He spent the last 22+ years working in military defense as a mechanical engineer, systems engineer, IPT lead, and chief engineer for Leidos and Northrop Grumman. His work covers designing and developing systems for advanced military flight simulators, the Marine Corp Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV) and Assault Amphibious Vehicle (AAV), and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems for the Army and Coast Guard. He worked in the consumer products industry developing solar panels for British Petroleum, testing consumer products at Underwriters Laboratories, and manufacturing diesel engines for Cummins Diesel. George earned a PhD in industrial and systems engineering from Auburn University before earning a MS in product development at the Naval Postgraduate School and a MS and BS in mechanical engineering at NC State University. George is also a Professional Engineer registered in the state of Maryland since 2006.
