About me
Cameron Sobie is the Director of AI Strategy at Arch Systems, where he focuses on identifying where emerging AI capabilities can unlock value in manufacturing and leads the transformation of those ideas into deployed solutions. His work drives bottom line results by helping manufacturers improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and make better use of their operational data. Based in Toronto, he focuses on bridging frontier AI with the realities of the factory floor.Prior to joining Arch Systems, Cameron led data science initiatives at Siemens, where he developed applications in condition monitoring, optimization, and operational analytics across energy and engineering systems. His work has spanned both research and applied domains, bridging advanced analytics with industrial use cases.Cameron holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in mechanical systems, materials science, and machine learning, and is a 2025 SMTAI award recipient for co-authoring a paper recognized for Best Practical and Applications-Based Knowledge.
