ALBERT (AL) BLOCK is a seasoned PCB Manufacturing Strategist, bringing to DirectPCB over 45 years of expertise in the SMTA/PCB industry. Throughout his 22-year tenure at National Instruments (NI), Al evaluated new designs for product reliability and led supplier audits to ensure alignment with complex technology requirements. As a key member of NI’s PCB commodity team, he played a pivotal role in maintaining manufacturing robustness. Prior to NI, Al served as DFM Engineering Manager in Solectron’s NPI group and spent two decades at Raytheon/Texas Instruments Defense Systems, overseeing critical labs and testing processes. His technical leadership is further demonstrated by co-authoring a paper on cyclic voltammetric stripping (CVS), published in the Texas Instruments Technical Journal. Al’s career reflects a commitment to innovation, quality and advancing PCB manufacturing standards.
